Located in Upstate New York, the team at our build center offers step-by-step guidance from ordering your kit to the first flight. We will be with you through the entire building process with superior expertise, tools, and support. Our goal is to make building your dream a fun, life-changing experience.
Pricing
Our Builder Assistance Program price is a flat fee depending on the model and type of kit you want to build. Our flat-fee pricing means you will know upfront what your build will cost and will have peace of mind that there won’t be big cost increases after the project has begun.
During the building process, there are some consumables and other parts that may be required that are not part of the kit. For these types of items or any options you purchase through us, we have a predetermined fixed markup so you will know that the price we pass along is always fair.
How It Works
The Builder Assistance Program with the Custom Aircraft Builders Team is a fast and affordable way to get your kit airplane in the air.
When you purchase a kit through us, you are the owner of the aircraft and principal builder. When you build 51% of the parts and do 51% of the assembly of the total, you have done the major portion, which is required for the aircraft to be certified under the favorable Experimental Amateur-Built category. This is often referred to as the "51% Rule" or the "Major Portion Rule."

Our hangar is a short plane ride from anywhere in the northeast. Located just north of the Pennsylvania border in Upstate New York, the Greater Binghamton Area is a small community in a strategic location with a lot to offer. Access to the airport is incredibly easy and there's plenty of great accommodations to make your build sessions comfortable and enjoyable.

Pricing
As a new aircraft to the United States, the Orion Cub is available as a custom kit. Let us know what you want and we will custom quote each aircraft.
Kits for building yourself will be available in the near future but at this point we are only offering aircraft through our builder assistance program as we develop our kit and pricing structure.

Doug Goodrich
Goodrich Aviation has been in business nearly 30 years, and offers services such as a flight school, a flying club, general aviation maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
Doug and his team began building kits in 2019, and quickly grew the team and shop in to a full Builder Assistance center. Custom Aircraft Builders is a Sling dealer and build center, and also provides build assistance to Van's Aircraft builders.
